While sharing so much of my life online, I’ve been facing a lot of inner turmoil. As I mentioned in a previous blog, I am conquering fears one post at a time. Being courageous is not the absence of fear, it’s choosing to face it. There are enough “Do not fear” verses in the Bible for me to draw from whenever I need to, and I certainly do.
One of my greatest fears has been that if I share things too early with other people, I may not succeed. I’m not sure where this fear comes from, but it has shaped my relationships and my levels of trust. Even fasting was something I tried to hide from my very sisters and brothers, the same ones I should have been asking to pray and fast with me.
The Word tells us to “guard your heart above all else, for from it flow the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23). I took that word and ran with it. I thought, I have to guard my plans. I have to keep my ideas away from everyone else to keep them safe. All that mindset did was teach me not to trust people dear to me, creating a huge gap in my relationships.
Yes, you should guard your heart. But what about those you love, and those who love you? Would you deprive them of the opportunity to show up for you, to be there with you as you rise and fall in your plans? The Word also says, “A friend loves at all times, and a sister is born for adversity” (Proverbs 17:17). This means, the biblical role of your sisters and brothers is to offer support and comfort in difficult times, not just to show up in the good times.
So no, not everyone needs to know all of your plans. But those you consider your sisters are there for this very reason: to help carry your burdens and walk with you through it.

I’ve learned that sharing is okay, but oversharing is not. And as I share this journey with you, I trust that your being here is an answered prayer. I didn’t make it easy to find these posts, you went out of your way to read this. If you’ve gotten this far, I hope you’re among those who pray for me and not judge me. I hope you’re one of the select few who build with me rather than tear me down.
I also believe that if God is for me, who can be against me? Since I’m sure the voice of the Lord leads me, especially as I share on social media, I have no doubt that He is sending His angels concerning me, protecting me in areas I cannot see, and directing my feet onto the right path.
What fears are you facing as you navigate making your dreams a reality and walking in purpose? How has your relationship with God shaped how you respond to those fears?
I’m so grateful for this platform and for you. If fear has ever held you back, stay tuned as we continue learning to conquer our fears, one post at a time. See you soon, Faithful People!
