Something's About To Shift

I get so much energy at night. I've been this way since I started drinking coffee regularly and with the last cup being drunk at 5pm, it is no surprise that I get so much energy at night. It's currently 10:06 pm where I am and I should be in bed. Honestly, I feel like today was such a productive day as it is but for some reason I feel led to write. So here I am using all the energy I have left for the day to share something very personal with you all.

I have been single all my life. There I said it. And I have been super single these last 7 years especially. Whew. Now it's officially out there. Not that anyone has asked. For some unknown reason the fact has been a bit embarrassing to me.

The Lord has been calling me to create a series to help the young people in Christ live in holiness and maximize their season of Singleness, but the idea of having to be vulnerable about my own journey has literally repelled me from starting. It was in my 90 day journey of healing and obedience that I realized that running from an assignment from God stemmed from my own self consciousness. But in my delay, the young men and women I am meant to reach are being deceived or being led astray; and there comes a day where we will all have to make an account. I cannot run anymore.

While I have and will always trust God with my heart, I didn't always know what He was doing. The lack of knowledge causes people to perish, right? Isn't that what the Word says? I began searching for answers everywhere else and from everyone else but Jesus. Although I've repented already, the thought of placing anything else above my Lord still makes me shake my head. I had no idea who God really was and as a result I had very little peace. Thank God, I have peace now and I want to tell you how I got it. I have surrendered. I have learned, from many examples in scripture, how to lean on the Lord in every season, making me content in my Singleness.

So here I am, up past the average person's bedtime to tell you that I will be sharing a short series of blogs, PDFs, videos and prayer points to encourage our young women to use their time wisely. Singleness is not a season to be ashamed of, but a season to grow in and maximize. The calling God has placed on your life is for you and not dependent on circumstance. Find out what that is and live it out!

Follow along here and on YouTube for weekly content and feel free to reach out. I'm here for you. I cannot claim to be an expert but I have the credentials of being single my whole life and I have to say that counts for something.

And this is only the beginning. Next week, I'll be sharing the Pilot episode of The Singleness Series on YouTube, where I'll explain why I believe this conversation is so important, what we'll be talking about throughout the series, and what you can expect from the journey ahead. We'll talk about becoming one with Christ, understanding God's purpose for marriage, holiness, friendships, accountability, dating, preparation for marriage and, ultimately, how to maximize the season you're in right now. I'll also be sharing a free prayer PDF to help you begin the journey alongside me. So if you've ever wondered what God might want to do with you before “the one” comes along, I hope you'll join me. We're just getting started.

Getting Back to Budgeting
